Now that both of the next-gen motion gaming solutions are available for purchase across the planet, you might be wondering who has sold the most. We know we are.

This week, Microsoft sent word that it has sold 2.5 million Kinect sensors since it started selling around the world four weeks ago.

But while the Sony Move has been available since September, Sony Australia told us yesterday that it has sold the same amount of Move units – 2.5 million – throughout North America, Europe, and Australia.

Sony chimed in today to tell us that internationally it has shipped 4.1 million Move units to retailers around the world, but that doesn’t reflect actual sales.

Technically, this puts Sony in the lead, but given the three month lead Sony has had and the amount Microsoft has sold in the past month, we can’t imagine the Move will be ahead for that much longer.
