Basically the same as the Canon 830i, the 850i uses the same body and optics of the 830i but for those that need a little extra oomph in the zoom department, it sports an extra 2x (taking it to 22x over 20x for the 830i) and 440x (against 400x) digital. Not of course, that any film maker ? professional or otherwise – would use digital zoom!
Everything else is pretty much identical although it does come shipped with a wide attachment which can be a useful addition.
