Bang & Olufsen shows off 83 inch Beovision Harmony TV

Beovision Harmony

The newest addition to the Beovision Harmony family is a massive 83 inches, with its Danish maker, Bang & Olufsen, describing its ergonomic 4K OLED TV as a testament to the company’s dedication to design, craftsmanship, and sound quality.

Design and practicality

The Bang & Olufsen team says it created the new Harmony with attention to form and function. Its handcrafted oak and aluminium front panels are carefully adjusted by ear and hand to help reveal all the fine detail in music and sound, according to B&O. The powerful sound centre is housed inside these panels and remains concealed when the screen when not in use, or when the unit is simply playing music.

For TV viewing, the motorised panels open via a well-choreographed sequence (“like a butterfly opening its wings”, according to B&O) to reveal the screen. The screen itself rises to the optimum viewing height, while the complex grading pattern of the panels has been meticulously designed to help maximise the acoustic performance of the three-channel, fully active DSP-based sound centre.

Range

The 83″ is not the biggest TV in the Harmony range (there’s an 88″), but it does provide consumers with a larger size choice beyond the 65″ and 77″ models in the range. Users can also make the experience seem more substantial by connecting up to eight wired B&O BeoLab speakers to take advantage of the TV’s built-in 7.1 surround decoder.

Aesthetics

When not engaged in the delivery of an immersive and enthralling viewing experience, the metamorphosis-styled design helps conceal the presence of the large screen in your home, allowing the Harmony to appear like an integral part of your interior architecture.

Beovision Harmony

Beovision Harmony is designed to perform as a beautiful centrepiece in your home, with a powerful speaker system that delivers music streaming via integrated music services, such as Tune-In and Deezer. Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in and or Bluetooth quick and easy wirelessly playback from your smartphone, and Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube are on board for video streaming.

The Beovision Harmony 83” will be available in Australia from June, and local pricing is not available, it sells in America for $US23,000 (just over $AU32,000).
