Next Star Wars coming December 2015

By now, you know that Vader was Luke’s father, and that good ol’ Darth had some pretty crazy beginnings that also saw him competing in the future of car racing, also known as pod racing, but what else does the future have in store for Star Wars?

No one quite knows, well, no one outside of George Lucas, J.J. Abrams, and a team of writers working alongside both the aforementioned producer and director, but now we have a date for when the world will know:

December 18, 2015.

That’s the date that has been set for release of the seventh episode of what was once called the Star Wars trilogy, and is now the nine Star Wars films.

“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” said Alan Horn, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios.

The news comes courtesy of the Star Wars website, where it also tells us that shooting hasn’t officially started yet — that’s next year, folks — but John Williams will return to his scoring duties for music, J.J. Abrams will be writing alongside Lawrence Kasdan known for “The Empire Srikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi,” with Abrams set to direct.
