Nokia MWC 2019 – four new phones and one with five cameras!

Nokia MWC 2019 announcements were what we have come to expect of this Finnish company – quantity and quality.

The Nokia MCW 2019 announcements focused on handsets under the guidance of its owner’s HMD Global. Other Nokia enterprises are concerned with networks and of course 5G.

Five lenses – the Nokia 9 Pureview

Every picture taken with a Nokia 9 PureView is in HDR. Five cameras simultaneously capture the image and fuse it into one 12MP photo with outstanding dynamic range and depth of field. It can capture images in uncompressed RAW “DNG” format and edit them directly on the phone with the free mobile version of Adobe Lightroom. It uses two colour and three mono sensors for detail and depth.

Australian prices are not yet set, around $1,000 (US$699)

Nokia 4.2

Australian pricing is not set – expect it to be early $250-300 (US$169/199)

It is a mid-range verging on value phone that Nokia is so good at.

Nokia 3.2

At around $200-250 I suspect it will struggle against the 4.2 for about $50 more. Nokia logic is a larger screen, smaller processor and single camera. It is the successor to the 3.1 Plus. US$139/169

Nokia 210 – GSM 900/1800 2G (so not for Australia)

The 210 is a dual sim, feature phone at just over $50 (US$35). It has a 2.4” 320 x 240 TFT colour screen, buttons and a .3MP camera reminiscent of older Nokia. It runs Opera Mini browser and has Snake.
