One date: HTC’s aluminium smartphone coming in April

The latest phone to wear the “One” name from HTC is finally coming, with the four main telcos signing up to offer the handset later this month.

HTC’s latest phone  is looking to bring a whole heap of features and enhancements to a market already filled with competitors like it, though the One aims to differentiate with an aluminium unibody design, a live stream of your news and social updates on the homescreen, BeatsAudio support in both the headphones and speakers, and a new camera that works could work better in low light than any other phone camera out there.

Outside of these, expect a 4.7 inch display offering the Full HD resolution, 4G LTE connection, and a 32GB storage inside.

We looked at it a little over a month ago when the phone was first announced, and could see some very interesting features and impressive build quality on offer.

While we’re currently awaiting a review unit, HTC has announced that the phone will be coming to Telstra, Optus, Virgin, and Vodafone, with pre-orders starting on April 5 and release occurring on April 23.

Plans will be available for the handset from all of them, though no outright price has been announced at this time.

While most of the offerings are just for the phone and the plan, Telstra has announced that it will be offering a black model (“Stealth Black” in fact) with customers ordering before releasing receiving a free pair of Beats Solo headphones.
