Come October Panasonic will the add the Lumix DMC-GF1 to its Lumix G Micro System line-up – not a digital SLR camera as such, the DMC-GF1 is uses the new Micro Four Thirds system standard. In essence, all the creative flexibility of a digital SLR, in a smaller and easier-to-use camera.

The DMC-GF1 has a built-in flash, and captures both still images and High Definition (HD) video with AVCHD Lite recording, plus the camera can record in Motion JPEG format.

Pricing and availability

The black Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 will be available in Australia in October, priced at $1,649 (RRP) with a kit lens included.
