Panasonic PT-AE3000 – projecting excellence

Panasonic says a newly designed optical system makes the full HD (1920 x 1080) PT-AE3000E LCD projector a significant upgrade to its predecessor, allowing it to achieve a 60,000:1 contrast ratio and 1600 lumens of brightness.

Core elements of the optical system include Pure Contrast Plate technology for effectively blocking unwanted light leakage, and Frame Creation technology for interpolating additional frames from two adjacent frames to create sharp and clear fast moving images.

Complementing these are the company’s fifth-generation Dynamic Iris and Smooth Screen technology, a Lens Memory feature that allows three different preset zoom/focus positions – catering to different film and TV aspect ratios – to be set and accessed at the touch of a button, a 2x zoom for throwing 120 inch pictures when placed from 3.6 to 7 metres from the screen, advanced colour adjustment and power management features, three HDMI v1.3 inputs for connecting the latest digital video equipment.

It costs $6,499.
