Philips add PVRs to their home entertainment range

Philips Electronics Australia is entering a new entertainment category in 2007 with the addition of two stylish Personal Video Recorders (PVRs), to its growing portfolio of consumer electronics products. The DVR5100 and DVR7100 offer consumers the power to control how and when they watch their favourite television programs with the added benefit of Pause Live TV and One Touch recording to 160GB and 250GB hard disk drives respectively.

The Philips DVR5100 and DVR7100 come equipped with twin HD tuners giving users the ability to record two programs in HD simultaneously, or watch one while recording the other. In addition, users can pre-program their Philips PVR in advance to record two channels simultaneously without the requirement to be home at the start of the recording.

Viewers also have complete control over when they stop and resume watching a program with Pause Live TV functionality, by returning to a paused program whenever it suits. Making recording simple, the Philips PVRs will record TV in 30 minute intervals with the press of one button.

Philips? commitment to superior audio and video performance is again maintained with the new PVRs featuring HDMI with 1080i and 5.1 channel audio recording.

In addition, the PVRs are designed with a number of additional ease-of-use features including a self-guided set-up and pre-programmed channels for key Australian metro areas and include Teletext and Picture in Picture functionality so you can monitor two programs at once.
