Philips aims to delight audiophile ears with new range of cans

Lovers of audio and high quality sound have a new range of headphones to play with, as Philips pushes its Fidelio range to cover the higher end of sound.

Adding to the models released earlier this year, the Philips L1 and M1 headphones hit above the $250 mark, higher than previous Philips cans, but aim to offer a better quality sound to a more discerning listener.

Both offer comfy plush pads, but with different designs, with the $299.95 M1 being closed and using a Bass Reflex System for stronger but balanced bass, with a headphone construction made from leather and aluminium, and ear pads made from memory foam.

Slightly more expensive at $399.95, the Philips Fidelio L1 headphones use the same materials and foam ear pads, but open the back up and tilt the speakers to match angles of the ear, essentially offering a more natural sound.

We’ll tell you more about them as soon as we get our hands – and ears – on them, but for now you can find them in stores across the country.
