Philips embraces the iPhone-iPad thing with a multi-dock

If you have both an iPhone and an iPad, you’re probably not alone, and if you’ve been searching for a way to charge both simultaneously, you’re also probably not alone, which is why Philips has been working on a solution.

The product that will make this happen is a clock radio with a dual dock.

That is to say this radio dock has two docking ports for Apple iDevices, with a dock bay for the original iPod dock connection, and another in front of it for the Lightning connector of newer devices, like the iPhone 5, 5S, and 5C.

With two iDevice docking ports, two iDevices can be charged at the same time, though Philips have also made it possible for a third to be charged if you so choose, with a USB port included in the unit to take care of an extra device, which could be another iDevice, or even something completely different, like an Android or Windows Phone handset.

It’s also worth noting that this is still a clock radio, with an audio-in port to play back audio through either another device, through digital FM, or one of devices you might have docked with it. It will wake you up, though, as it is an alarm clock, and Philips has also included a back-up system in case power ever fails so you’re woken up and alerted regardless of what happens.

The Philips Dual Dock Triple Charging Clock Radio comes with a name that’s a bit of a mouthful, but it is available now for interested parties, with a recommended retail price of $169.95.
