G1928

At under $50, one can purchase a DVD player that supports 5.1 surround sound. The G1928 provides surround sound output via either coaxial or optical outputs, which means that it is compatible with virtually all surround sound decoders.

The player is compatible with most DVD formats as well as HD-CD and VCD. It features an inbuilt Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder, zoom function, multiple speed forward and reverse playback, repeat function and karaoke.

There is also support for 16:9 wide-screen and multi-proportion mode for PAL/NTSC playback. The player can be made multi-zone compatible by following a procedure on the Dick Smith website.
