Kensington SmartFit Spin2 Monitor Stand (60049)

What is it?

The best way to describe it is a cross between a lazy Susan (we will tell you why it is called that) and a height-adjustable monitor stand adding 5.7 or 8.2cm additional height. The height adjustment uses a small extension shim over the round core.

The height is interesting. Kensington supply a small mirror to stick to the top of the monitor so you can see what height it needs to be.

The base is 32cm round, and the monitor plater is 25cm. Note that you can’t use it with monitors that have splayed legs – its more for an iMac or a regular base monitor. It will hold up to 18kg and is for up to 24-inch monitors. As usual, we pushed that and as long as the monitor base fits the platter and it works well with 27” iMacs.

GadgetGuy’s take – Kensington SmartFit Spin2 Monitor Stand (60049)

Thomas Jefferson invented the lazy Susan in the 18th century because his daughter Susan complained she was always served last at the table and, as a result, never found herself full when leaving. Since then, all ‘Susans’ have suffered such discrimination.

Lazy Susan

This is really an excellent idea for small desk spaces and to help declutter. In a matter of minutes, our test dummy filled it with pens, paper clips, notepads and all manner of detritus on the desk. It works.
