Water and electricity don’t play well. NETGEAR is voluntarily recalling one model of its Arlo outdoor power adaptor.
Arlo, Arlo Pro and Arlo Go outdoor security cameras may use this outdoor power adaptor.
The model is: Model Number AD2090120, Part Number 332-10986-01
(included in the box describing the adapter and associated materials as VMA4700-100AUS)
Various retail suppliers sold it between June and September 2017.
The Model Number and Part Number is on the back of the adapter. “Arlo” is on the front of the adapter. The product is an accessory sold separately from the camera.
Arlo Technologies discovered that water might enter the camera via the connection between the outdoor power adapter and camera. A short circuit, melting and overheating, posing a fire hazard can result if water enters the power adapter. Any damage has been confined to the power adapter and camera unit. There have been no reports of injuries.
All other Arlo Outdoor Power Adapters are unaffected by the voluntary recall.
What do to if you have an Arlo outdoor power adaptor
Check if it is the affected model. If so stop using the product immediately and unplug it from the camera.
Consumers should call Arlo Technologies on 1800 889 320 or visit the recall website to register their product and arrange for a refund or replacement.
