The Caplio R7 integrates some of the headline features of earlier Ricoh cameras – including a 7.1x optical wide zoom lens, vibration correction and face recognition mode – but now within the slimmest chassis in its class.

Its 8.15 megapixel image sensor is complemented by Smooth Imaging Engine II technology, which processes colours individually to achieve a closer match to colours seen with the naked eye, and reduces the noise often associated with high sensitivity photography without the loss of resolution. This means that even if you’re shooting at IS0800, images will be crisp with very little grain.

It costs $549.
