Rumblings suggest iPhone 5 to be unveiled October 5 in Australia

A new rumour making its way around the web is suggesting the 5th day of October to be the date of choice of Apple’s Tim Cook to make an announcement about the next iPhone.

The rumour comes courtesy of American tech website “AllThingsD”, which said that October 4 (US time) would be the day that Apple would hold an event to launch the next Apple smartphone. If true, this would put the iPhone 5 for an announcement on October 5 locally.

Rumours have been swelling about the next iPhone for months now, with an expected September to October timeframe making itself known since July.

Prior to this year, Apple has announced every generation of the iPhone in the middle of the year. With September about to end, Apple has well and truly passed the mid-year mark and industry experts are now expecting an urgent release for the new handset.
