Samsung to deliver Ice Cream Sandwich to S2 next week?

Google’s latest version of Android hasn’t exactly made the jump to many available phones yet, but all of that looks to change, with Samsung publishing that it plans to have an update ready for its Galaxy S2 smartphone in just a few days.

The news comes from the Philippines arm of the company, where a page has been spotted suggesting that the Ice Cream Sandwich update will be happening on March 10, 2012 for Samsung’s premium Galaxy S2 handset.

A further look into the site finds that this will happen in one of two ways: over Samsung’s KIES update tool or through an over-the-air update. According to Samsung, the Ice Cream Sandwich update will add face unlock, Android Beam, a mobile network data usage view, and better multi-tasking to the smartphone.

We’ve asked Samsung Australia for confirmation of this, but were still waiting for a response at time of publication.
