Samsung’s curviest monitor yet – CT55 is almost here

CT55

The Samsung CT55 with a 1000R radius in 27 and 32″ is coming to Australia soon.

1000R means that it is an aggressive curve – one that matches your field of view and should mean less eye strain. The smaller the R-value – the tighter the curve. The closer you can sit!

CT55

Specs-wise the CT55 is a 1920x1080p, 16:9, 1000R curved VA (Vertical alignment), 75Hz screen. It uses a VA panel to stretch viewing angle to 178° H/V.

The 1000R means the 32” (and 27”) takes less space across a desk – 708.8 (W) x 426.0 (H) x 133.5 (D) or 271.7mm with the stand. Very narrow bezels are perfect for dual or tri-screens.

Brightness is 200/250 nits (min/typical), and contrast is 3000:1. It is an 8-bit panel for 16.7 million colours and provides 119.3% sRGB, 88% DCI-P3, 88.4 Adobe RGB colour gamut.

Gamers should like it as it has 4 seconds (GTG) and AMD FreeSync compatible. It supports SDR – not HDR images. The stand has -3/+20 tilt, but it is not height adjustable.

Inputs are HDMI 1.4, Display Port 1.2, and D-Sub as well as 3.5mm audio in/out.

Sound: Integrated stereo 5W speakers

Blue light: TÜV Rheinland eye comfort certification for 27”
