SBS On Demand hits one more device, as Telstra’s T-Box catches up

Telstra appears to be playing catch up with its catch-up TV services, as SBS rolls out its “On Demand” app to T-Box customers across the country.

“Catch Up TV is all about having the flexibility to watch your favourite programs even if you can’t sit down to watch them live on TV,” said Eric Kearney, Telstra Director of IPTV and Pay TV, adding that “this partnership with SBS opens up a great deal of fantastic content to our customers, available on-demand after its broadcast.

“We are working on adding more free-to-air catch up services to the T-Box which we hope to announce soon.”

Until Telstra catches up its digital and streaming media TV box to what TVs, consoles, smartphones, and tablets are doing with regards to multiple forms of Australian catch-up TV, the addition of SBS to the T-Box is a welcome one, providing the thousands of Telstra T-Box owners with a way of seeing what SBS has played on its network when ever they want to.

T-Box customers can expect the SBS On Demand app on their boxes sometime in September, sitting under the aptly named menu item of “Catch Up TV.”
