Australian Skype subscribers will soon be able to purchase Skype-certified hardware such as Skype starter kits, webcams, headsets and more in popular retail stores throughout the country. Skype has announced a distribution partnership with Melbourne-based Musicway Corporation distribute Skype-branded hardware products throughout Australia.
The new partnership represents a concerted push from Skype into the Australian retail hardware products market. ?Skype has taken off in Australia and there are now well over one million subscribers here,? said Chris Lewis, Skype?s head of Marketing & Business Development, Asia-Pacific.
?With the huge growth in subscriptions comes a burgeoning demand for the widespread availability of hardware peripherals and our partnership with Musicway will ensure Australian consumers are able to buy products approved by Skype in numerous retail chains across the country.?
