Sonos ready with Apple Music beta

Sonos owners with an Apple Music account rejoice: the service is now live on your multi-room music system.

Available this week, Sonos owners with either a Play:1, Play:3, Playbar, or either of the Play:5 speakers can add a new service to their system as Apple Music has been added to the platform.

Sort of.

It’s not a final release, but to get the Apple Music selection, you’ll need to join the Sonos public beta program.

For those who don’t know, a beta program is basically a testing program, telling you that while Sonos has made the service live, it’s probably still a little buggy and is basically encouraging its users to help test the platform with the company.

Sonos does say that while this beta “isn’t the final product”, it is “a really good preview, with most of the features already in place”, though changes and adjustments will be made, with the final release expected early next year.

To join and try it out, you’ll want to hit up the Sonos app’s settings, and then in “advanced settings”, select the option for “beta program” and then “join the beta program”.

Once joined, the Sonos system will need a slight update, but you’ll find Apple Music in the music services option shortly thereafter.
