It’s been tipped for a while and now it looks like it’s finally happening: Sony will have a PlayStation Phone. Sort of.
Sony Ericsson’s “Xperia Play” looks as close as we’re going to get to a “PlayStation Phone,” featuring a slide out directional pad and button scheme like that of a PlayStation controller.
Gone are the analog joysticks, replaced with what looks like optical trackpads, similar to what HTC used in the Legend last year.
Much like recent Sony Ericsson Xperia models, we’re expecting to see Google’s Android used here, especially since Sony is looking at releasing PlayStation games on Android.
No word on price or availability yet, but we’ll know more when it’s launched on February 13 in Spain.
