SpinTel slashes NBN 50 and NBN 500 prices for Black Friday

As the Black Friday deals keep rolling in, SpinTel is the latest telco to launch a big sale, discounting its NBN 500 plan by more than $20 a month and reviving its NBN 50 plan.

SpinTel currently sells one of the cheapest NBN plans with its 25Mbps tier, so it’s good to see more discounts spread across the telco’s entire range. Between now and 30 November 2025, new customers can get an NBN 50 plan for $60 per month for the first six months. Once the discounted rate ends, the monthly price goes up to $81.95, which is pretty competitive.

For a while, SpinTel didn’t offer an NBN 50 plan, leaving a gap between its NBN 25 and NBN 500 products. But now SpinTel has brought back Australia’s most common NBN speed tier as part of its Black Friday sale.

Here’s how SpinTel’s NBN 50 deal compares to the rest of the competition:

As for the faster NBN 500 tier made possible by September’s internet speed upgrade, SpinTel sells the high-speed plan for $65 per month (or a slightly cheaper $64 via the widget on this page) for the first six months. At full price, it costs $86.95 per month, which is still pretty cost-effective.

Keep in mind that to benefit from 500Mbps download speeds, you need to have either a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) or Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) connection. Otherwise, the speeds cap out at 100Mbps. Either way, here’s how much the current cheapest NBN 500 plans cost:

Another recent internet Black Friday deal comes from Tangerine. It’s selling NBN plans at a $20 monthly discount over 12 months. It’s not necessarily the cheapest deal upfront, but it’s worth comparing to SpinTel’s and other telcos’ compelling deals.
