Toshiba revamps its tablets: now in S, M, and L

Google’s latest version of Android is here to stay, and Toshiba is updating and refreshing its range of tablets to match the generation, upgrading the inside and outside and offering three specific sizes, so all you need to do is work out how big a tablet you want.

Set to be available from late-June, the three tablets represent different parts of the market, literally offering different styles of slate for different customers.

Toshiba AT270

First up is the small: the Toshiba AT270 is one of the easy to hold tablets with a 7.7 inch screen, similar in dimensions to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 we saw earlier this year, though with Toshiba’s own distinctive spin on things.

Weighing 350 grams and sitting at 7.85mm thin, the tablet offers up an Nvidia Tegra quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 1280×800 screen resolution, microSD slot for expanding that storage size, Bluetooth 3, and up to eight hours of battery life.

The tablets stacked on each other.

Next is the mid-size, with Toshiba’s third-generation 10 inch slate, the AT300. This model takes that similar 10.1 inch screen with 1280×800 resolution, an Nvidia Tegra quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, microSD, microHDMI, microUSB, and a micro-size, with an 8.93mm thickness and a weight of 590 grams.

And then there’s the big daddy, and when we say this thing is huge, we mean it.

Large is an understatement; the Toshiba AT330 is freakin' huge.

The Toshiba AT330 is 13.3 inch tablet with a massive 1600×900 screen resolution and similar specs to the other models, with a quad-core processor from Nvidia, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, microSD, Bluetooth 4.0, and the ability to open applications on a much bigger screen.

All of the tablets arrive with Android 4.0, also known as “Ice Cream Sandwich,” a 5 megapixel rear camera, and come in at $539 for either the 7.7 or 10.1 inch models, or $699 for the big 13.3 tablet.
