Toshiba’s new TV remembers who you are

Toshiba has this week released a TV range able to remember your preferred volume level, picture and colour settings, as well as favourite channels. Using “Personal TV Auto Face Recognition,” the Regza WL800A series of televisions scan your face using a camera built into the TV, providing up to four users with customised preferences.

Toshiba's WL800A uses active 3D technology and bundles one pair of glasses in the box.

Starting from $2,329 RRP (46 inch), the WL800A range also offers active 3D technology, IPTV, DLNA over an Ethernet port and built-in wireless, Toshiba’s Resolution+ upscaling tech, as well as 400Hz ClearScan for smoother motion in sports.

Passive 3D has also joined the Toshiba line-up, with the Regza VL800A ($2,229, 47 inch) throwing in four pairs of glasses with the TV, as well as IPTV, Resolution+, and ClearScan 200Hz.
