BenQ have released two new home cinema projectors, both native high definition and both on sale now.
The W20000
The W20000 home cinema projector features 20,000:1 contrast ratio, native Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, a brightness of 1,200 ANSI lumen and BenQ’s proprietary Senseye technology. Furthermore, the W20000 performswith any video source, such as high definition DVD players, Blu-ray players and game consoles. The W20000 also utilises 1080p Full Hi Definition at 24 frames per second (fps) in order to preserve the film makers original Movie format.
The W20000 creates the best viewing experience using BrilliantColorTM color enhancement technologies. The BrilliantColorTM Technology is a cutting-edge technology that enables higher brightness levels by boosting mid-tone colors, resulting in more vibrant, precisely rendered colors. VIDI Lighting Technology adjusts light more effectively by boosting specific colors in different application modes for a more stunning picture.
The W20000 also delivers a vast array of other thoughtful designs and premium features. At only 25dB, the W20000 lets consumers enjoy their visual experience without any distracting projector noise. The W20000 is designed with two HDMI inputs so that users do not need to swap cables each time they want to view content from a second source.
Other premium features include built-in ISFccc compliant professional optimization. The acclaimed ISF Certified Calibration Controls (ISFccc) makes obtaining a projection image, which is adjusted to the lighting conditions of the viewing environment” virtually instantaneous. Consumers can also see movies in their original Panoramic 2.35:1 aspect ratio with an optional PanamorphTM lens. With a PanamorphTM Lens consumers can view movies in their originally recorded widescreen format at maximum resolution with no image distortion or letterboxing.
With the W20000 DLP 1080p projector, you get the truest blacks and the ultimate in colour accuracy. Thanks to its 95% aperture ratio, which happens to be the highest in the industry, each one of the more than 2 million pixels provides you with the most accurate and honest image quality available. And while some competing technologies, like LCD, may leave you with pixilation or a “screen door” effect, DLP 1080p projectors leave you with only the clearest, sharpest and most brilliant images.
The W20000 is also equipped with the latest HQV processor, which has the ability to convert SD content such as analog TV broadcasts to HD-quality video. This HQV processor analyzes each and every pixel from the video source and maximizes the output of the projector to produce HD-like images.
Beyond its exceptional image quality, the W5000 also comes equipped with a broad selection of inputs including 2 x HDMI, 2 x Component, 1 x S-Video, 1 x Composite and 1 x analog RGB.
Picture reliability
Put simply, picture reliability is how the images from your projector will look over time. When looking at a projected image, if you see an unusual amount of yellow or greenish hues in your images, that’s what we call Colour Decay. Projectors that use DLP technology are virtually immune to Colour Decay. However, LCD projectors can’t make that same claim.
Price and availability
The W20000 is expected to be released in early March with an RRP of $6,999.
