Two new travel-friendly digital cameras from Panasonic

Two new ‘Traveller’s Zoom’ digital cameras from Panasonic are set to hugely simplify photo-taking, with an intelligent auto (iA) system that sets all the fiddly bits for you totally automatically, including selecting the correct ‘scene’ mode (night, beach, etc.), autofocus, image stabilisation and so forth.

Fittingly, these compact ‘travel’ cameras have a couple of nifty features for your holidays, including the ability to set times and dates for up to 74 locations around the world. There’s a handy ‘clipboard’ feature, which makes it simple to grab a photo of a train schedule, for instance, an excellent 10x optical zoom and both cameras will snap for over 300 images on a single battery charge.

Both cameras can output via component to a high-def TV to bore family and friends when you get home. The 9.1-megapixel TZ15 (pictured above) model chimes in at $715 and the 8.1-megapixel TZ11 (pictured below) at $599.
