GadgetGuy went to a special preview of Samsung’s ‘The Night Reimagined’
It is a themed light display in the Sydney Opera House forecourt and continues across the water at Luna Park.
The Opera House forecourt is a great place to start your Vivid City excursion. Arrive early (opens at 6 pm) as demand will be huge.
The giant ‘9’ shaped experience has over two kilometres of programmable LED lighting, and much of it is run on its new Samsung Galaxy S9/Plus smartphone.
Start by having your AR emoji taken and see it take life on the centre screen. Your emoji then catches a virtual ferry to Luna Park before becoming the familiar face of the famed park entrance.
You can also see the innovative 960 frames per second super slow-mo in action capturing the action.
Garry McGregor, Vice President of IT and Mobile, Samsung Australia said, “Samsung is all about creating epic moments that use our technology to defy barriers and to do things they never thought possible.
“There’s no better place to showcase the power of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ than at one of Australia’s largest and most exciting events: Vivid Sydney. What we’re doing at Luna Park and the Sydney Opera House Forecourt is truly unique, and I encourage everyone to come and experience it for themselves.”
Ignatius Jones, Creative Director for Vivid Sydney, said, “It won’t be long before Vivid Sydney attendees get to make history by becoming the new faces of Sydney’s iconic Luna Park. Vivid Sydney is about finding new ways for technology, art and innovation to gloriously come together, and with this installation, Samsung has delivered.”
