The unit features a single tuner that allows you to record to either VHS or DVD, a single button dubbing feature to copy from VHS to DVD or vice versa, and auto-chaptering, which allows you to quickly select scenes on the recorded DVD. Timeslip (simultaneous record and playback) is supported with DVD-RAM disks.

The VR-320 supports DV camera input, a G-code programmable timer, a JPEG digital photo album and a variety of playback formats including MPEG4, JPEG (photos) and CD formats (CD-R, CD-RW, MP3). DVD supports up to eight hours in EP mode. VHS supports both standard play and extended play (12 hours on an E180 tape).
