Withings reworks its WiFi scale for babies and kids

The last time we checked out the WiFi Internet Connected Scale, we were a little scared to tweet our weight to the world. In a few months, however, you’ll be able to track the health of your children using your iPhone and a new smaller scale.

Unveiled today by French health technology provider Withings, the Smart Baby Scale supports both babies and toddlers thanks to a removable baby basket that sits atop a smaller scale that children can use.

Like the adult-size WiFi scale, the Baby Scale take advantage of WiFi and Bluetooth to send information to the Withings system, which can then be tracked using the WiScale app available for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch.

Weigh-ins can – much like before – be set to update social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as send emails.

Announced ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas this week and already a winner of a CES Innovation Award, the scale should be available by the middle of the year.
