The Motorola Moto g7 and g7 Plus will be available from 11 April. Judging by early international reviews they give this iconic brand a very strong foothold in the mass market where it is all about bang for buck.
The Moto g7 family usually has a good, better and best range – but here in Australia, it is the better and best for us.
GadgetGuy has not reviewed these yet and will probably do so as a pair. The questions will be what do you get by spending $100 more on the G7 Plus or what do you lose by spending $100 less on the G7?

GadgetGuy’s take
Moto owners are very loyal and happy, and the G7 series offers new users a chance to experience Moto build quality and service even at a low price point.
Save $100 or spend 100?
The phones are almost identical – the G7 loses NFC and Wi-Fi AC with a slightly less specified camera. It is a good buy for everyday use.
But spend $100 more to get Wi-Fi AC, BT 5.0, OIS camera, 27W charging – as well as that Viva Red finish – you have won me.
This market is overly crowded – the closest comparison to the G7 Plus is the $499 Nokia 7.1, and there is not much between them.
