Nokia has just released a free software update – version 2.0 – to the N97 mobile phone. The update adds changes to the user experience, plus some extra functionality to the device.
Changes include:
- ‘Flip scrolling’, which has been implemented across the entire user interface, making scrolling in all views very smooth
- Shortcuts to the personalised home screen
- Ovi Maps 3.1
- Nokia Email (Nokia Messaging)
- Ovi Contacts
- Ovi Store
Users can download the update from the Nokia Update website http://www.nokia.com/softwareupdate, and, apparently, the update will be downloadable ‘over the air’ soon. There will also be country and operator specific versions released.
