Apple has announced a new subscription service to compete with the likes of Adobe and Canva, bundling multiple professional creative editing apps as part of a recurring price. Labelled ‘Apple Creator Studio’, the subscription includes full access to apps such as Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, in addition to more features across Apple’s free apps.
Priced at $19.99 per month in Australia, or $199 annually, Apple Creator Studio competes closely with a Canva Pro subscription, which costs $165 per year. An Adobe Creative Cloud Pro subscription, however, costs $169.99 per month, including access to apps like Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and InDesign.
It’s an aggressive play into the creative subscription market, aimed at collating some of Apple’s most popular professional apps. According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, the subscription is meant to provide “easy access to the most powerful and intuitive tools for video editing, music making, creative imaging, and visual productivity”.
Apple’s announcement comes soon after the company announced a record year for its services division, which includes subscriptions, App Store commissions, and advertising. It’s a growing part of Apple’s business, accounting for US$109.58 billion of the company’s US$416.16 billion net sales in 2025, second only to its iPhone division.
What does Apple Creator Studio include?
Apple’s new subscription service includes full access to six paid apps across video, audio, and graphical editing:
- Final Cut Pro
- Logic Pro
- Pixelmator Pro
- Motion
- Compressor
- MainStage

In addition to the pro-level apps, Apple also announced “new AI features and premium content” for its free apps, including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Generative AI features, like creating a slide deck from a text outline, are part of Apple’s premium content, as well as royalty-free photos and graphics. Apple also regularly updates its creative apps, including major updates for Final Cut Pro and Logic on iPad.
A subscription grants access to each app on its compatible platform, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. As confirmed by Apple, Creator Studio can be shared with up to six users via Family Sharing.
For those who prefer to avoid subscriptions, one-off purchases are still available. For example, Final Cut Pro costs $499.99 as a one-time purchase, while Logic Pro costs $299.99. Uni students and staff can access Apple’s cheaper education pricing, paying $4.99 per month for Apple Creator Studio, or $49 annually.
