These GravaStar keyboards are some of boldest I’ve ever seen

I’ve seen a recent trend of gaming peripheral brands moving towards subtler designs, made to fit in with more productivity-centric gadgets. On the other end of the spectrum, you have the wild designs of the GravaStar Mercury V75 range that’s just arrived in Australia.

Looking like something fresh off the set of a sci-fi film, the new keyboards are far from subtle. Outlandish in shape and colour, Gravastar’s Mercury keyboards even have claw-like protrusions on the back of the frame. As the ‘V75’ name suggests, the keyboards are largely full-sized, minus a numpad.

Instead of mechanical switches, which are popular among enthusiasts, these keyboards use magnetic Hall Effect switches. In practice, they’re meant to produce smoother key presses and last longer, due to fewer moving parts.

Starting at $199 in Australia, the GravaStar Mercury V75 keyboards are stocked at Clever House and Centre Com.
