If there’s one thing the Black Friday sales are good for, it’s decent discounts on gaming. Overnight, PlayStation dropped a whopper of a Black Friday sale across its range of PS5 hardware, including the high-powered PS5 Pro console.
All PS5 consoles are handsomely discounted across most major Australian retailers this Black Friday until 4 December. The sale also extends to PS5 peripherals, including the PlayStation Portal streaming device and the customisable DualSense Edge controller.
Right now, you can find the digital version of the PS5 for as little as $479, a hefty $270 discount on its current RRP. If you buy all of your games digitally, which is a growing sales trend, it’s a good entry point, with the option to purchase a separate disc drive should you need it.
A regular PS5 that comes with a disc drive is $629, a $200 discount, while the PS5 Pro is down to $979, a reasonable $220 off its regular price. Many retailers also stock bundles with a copy of EA Sports FC 26 included at no extra cost.
Remarkably, it’s currently cheaper to buy a digital PS5 and a separate disc drive than it is to get the disc drive-inclusive model. However, the only drawback is slightly less internal storage, based on a recent change from 1TB to 825GB.
