If there’s one consistent criticism of Apple’s premium-level phones, like the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it’s that the colours tend to be a bit drab. When “Desert Titanium” is arguably the most colourful variant of the lot, it’s a dire situation for colour-loving tech heads. Fortunately, it looks like Apple will introduce a comparatively brighter colour with its iPhone 17 Pro range.

Regular leaker Sonny Dickson shared a group of dummy models that reportedly represent Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 handsets. Among them is a mockup of a bright orange iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max colour. Now we’re talking.

Dickson’s dummy phones have since been backed up by EFTM‘s Trevor Long, who also has a swathe of sweet-looking phone mockups on hand. Included in both sets is a glimpse at what might be the slimmer iPhone 17 Air, a likely competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge.

From a colour perspective, the base iPhone 17 model includes different hues of blue, green, and pink. At first glance, the colours look eerily similar to the Google Pixel 9’s Wintergreen and the Pixel 9 Pro’s Rose Quartz finishes.

As always, none of this is official until it comes from Apple. However, previous leaks, like the iPhone 16 colours, have proven to be fairly accurate. The final production colours tend to be a slightly different shade than the factory mockups currently circulating, but it’s pretty close.

Last year, Apple announced the iPhone 16 range on 10 September before releasing the phones on 20 September in Australia. Apple usually operates like clockwork, so expect a similar announcement and launch cycle next month.

I certainly hope that bright orange colour is part of the iPhone 17 Pro range. High-end phones could do with a long-overdue splash of vibrancy.
