Lenovo’s new S2 tablet to offer 20 hours of battery life

Ahead of CES, Lenovo is looking to turn heads, announcing a new tablet that can last almost a full day on one charge when plugged into its detachable keyboard dock.

The IdeaTab S2 will be Lenovo’s first stab at Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and offer a dual-core processor, 10.1 inch screen with 1280×800 resolution, 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 64GB storage, and 9 hours of battery life.

“But wait,” I hear you saying, “didn’t you say that the tablet will feature 20 hours of battery life?”

And it does, with Lenovo taking a page from Asus and adding an optional detachable keyboard with included battery, making it possible for the S2 to reach almost a full-day of life.

Lenovo is saying that 3G call support could even make it into this model, making it possible to phone home from your tablet-laptop when you’re out and about.

Like most thing CES, we’ve got no pricing or local release date to speak of yet, but hold on because we’re sure Lenovo will be keen to tell us more in the coming weeks.
