Freestanding innovation from Whirlpool

 

Whirlpool is introducing a European-styled range of freestanding cooking appliances to help turn the culinary aspirations of the home chef into a reality. The companyys 90 cm electric oven with gas cooktop (ACG900IX – $2,299 RRP) features an eight function oven combined with a cooktop that houses five gas burners and a triple ring wok burner, set in a stainless steel cabinet and mounted on adjustable stainless steel feet. Itts accented by durable cast iron trivets for improved grip. It also has a removable stainless steel splashback, for those who prefer to do without one. Electronic ignition and a built-in flame failure device steers users towards safe operation.

The oven in this configuration has a triple glazed door for maximum heat retention and safety. It also houses a handy light and seven cooking functions, including static which is ideal for everyday cooking; fan forced for everything from biscuits to roasts; bottom element with fan, ideal for cooking bases of heavy cakes; turbo grill, great for creating a golden brown surface while keeping meat tender inside; half grill for quick snacks; full grill for larger meals including steaks; and natural defrost, which thaws food quickly without heat.

As well, an end of cookingg timer alerts users to when a meal is ready and a built-in warming drawer, or storage compartment, means temperate dishes and cookware are conveniently on hand when required.

Whirlpool has also announced a 60 cm version, the ACG600IX ($1,699 RRP) with four burners for more compact kitchens.
