So how do you get high definition video anyway? After all, you?ve got a beaut high resolution plasma or LCD TV, or maybe even a projector. While it looks okay with DVDs, the TV picture could be better. There are now four main ways to get high definition in Australia, including:
- Free, over-the-air TV broadcasts
- Blu-ray or HD DVD players
- Games console such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
- The internet
One thing you cannot get high definition from is a DVD. That is a popular misconception. DVDs offer no better than the same resolution available from standard definition digital TV. They may look a little better sometimes, but that?s only because more care has been taken in producing them than digital TV. They are not high definition.
