Passive 3D introduced into TVs, no word when they will be released locally

CES 2011: America’s budget TV manufacturer Vizio may have trumped some of the big names with 3D TVs offering technology similar to what’s found in theatres.

The technology uses the same sort of glasses you find when watching 3D movies in cinemas today, removing batteries and forcing the TV to process the images into 3D.

Vizio’s new lineup makes up twenty-one models, stretching from 22 inches all the way up to 71 inch Full HD TVs.

Sadly, there’s no word if Vizio plans to release any models in Australia or if any other manufacturer will use the passive 3D technology.
