The 1080p rush – Mitsubishi`s new HC5000 projector

With the arrival of HD DVD and Blu-ray, the ability for panels and projectors to handle 1080p resolution is becoming increasingly important, and at $7999 Mitsubishiis HC5000 is one of the most affordable and well-specified 1080p devices available. Its 1920 x 1080 resolution is provided by 3LCD, a technology that provides better black level performance than conventional LCD and a near absence of the screen door effect.  Dynamic Iris technology provides good contrast performance (10 000:1), brightness is rated at 1000 ANSI lumens, operating noise at 19dB and, with a long lamp life (5000 hours) and a dust cover for the imaging chip, maintenance costs for the projector promise to be minimal. All the important connections are provided HDMI, component, S-Video and DVI and with a powered lens shift and zoom (1.6:1) the HD5000 affords flexible placement in a room.
