In what has to be one of the most ridiculous stories this week, Nintendo’s much awaited portable video game console with a 3D screen has just had it’s release date announced.

September 29 is the date Nintendo will give us details of when the DS replacement – the Nintendo 3DS – will be coming and how much it will cost.
Sadly, this isn’t the actual release date, but rather the release date of the release date and pricing. Confused yet?
Nintendo Australia has told us previously that the Nintendo 3DS is “planned to launch in 2011” so we’re not straying far from that date. What we can look forward to on September 29 is some inkling of a price when it lands here.
