Panasonic load Viera Cast tech onto 7 new Blu-ray players and DVD recorders

Panasonic Australia today unveiled the addition of Viera Cast technology to its latest range of Blu-ray players and recorders and DVD recorders with twin HD tuners.

Viera Cast provides consumers with user-friendly internet-enabled technology to access popular entertainment sites, You Tube and Google’s Picasa web albums simply using their home broadband connection.

This innovative function is user-friendly and can be accessed with a single button on the recorders’ remote control for viewing on any home TV. The user can simply navigate the online menus and play content using the remote.

“Panasonic is excited to bring Viera Cast into Australian homes as it demonstrates our commitment to providing the ultimate home entertainment experience for our consumers,” said Paul Reid, Director, Consumer Electronics Group, Panasonic Australia.

“Viera Cast is the future of internet enablement in the living room. Easily accessed through the main Viera Cast interface, YouTube and Picasa provide an interactive customer experience that lets users view the latest clips and web albums,” Mr Reid continued.

Consumers can use their PC or Mac to upload their clips and albums creating virtual libraries, then simply access them via the new Panasonic models using Viera Cast and view them on their TV.

“Panasonic wants to engage consumers with High Definition and deliver interconnected products that truly deliver high quality and powerful experiences such as Viera Cast, and the continued improvements in Viera Link,” said Mr Reid.
