Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 digital camera – shoot photos and HD video

Panasonic has annonced the launch of the new 12.1 megapixel Lumix DMC-FZ35 digital still camera with massive 18x optical super-zoom1, enhanced Power O.I.S (Optical Image Stabiliser), AVCHD Lite2 high-definition (HD) video recording capability plus the advantage of manual operation – providing the ultimate creative photographic experience for enthusiasts and amateurs alike.

Joining Panasonic’s popular FZ series cameras as a successor to the DMC-FZ28, the FZ35 boasts a versatile, bright 27mm wide angle Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens and features the high-zoom power and suite of creative controls inherent in the FZ range. This exciting new model now offers users ultra-high speed AF and other enhanced features to boost fun and usability.

This new model is a true hybrid – able to record video in high definition with the single touch of a button, and with impressive performance as both camera and camcorder, the FZ35 offers smooth, easy operation in still and video modes.

Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto mode – a hallmark of Panasonic Lumix cameras – now includes Power O.I.S. This optical image stabiliser boasts around twice the hand-shake suppression power of the previous highly effective MEGA O.I.S. for blur-free results in low-light or when zooming.

iA mode also features an advanced face recognition function for extra convenience. Face recognition – a function which ‘remembers’ faces – now allows registration of up to three face images per person, to dramatically raise the detection accuracy 3. Also, once registered, faces of up to three people can be recognised simultaneously when shooting. The name also rotates either vertically or horizontally, depending on the orientation of the image, for easy reading on the LCD.

The super-powerful 18x zoom lens makes it easy to pull in subjects from a distance or to capture dramatic close-ups. The FZ35 also features a 2.7-inch Intelligent LCD with a wide viewing angle for improved visibility during recording and playback.

The FZ35 inherits and enhances the manual operation that has been so popular in previous FZ models. The FZ35 manual controls are even more intuitive, versatile and easier to use, featuring an improved control layout. Advanced Scene mode offers further creative opportunities with a new Close-up mode so users can capture dramatic macro shots easily.
