YouTube plays a World Cup prank on the web

The people at YouTube like to play with their website and the introduction of a FIFA World Cup inspired soccer button is certainly enough to get some people laughing.

Currently appearing on many new videos, the unexpected little soccer ball found at the bottom of YouTube videos does something in the spirit of the World Cup soccer matches currently held in South Africa.

Press it and the video you’re watching will be overwhelmed with the sound of vuvuzelas singing in chorus.

Whether you liken it to a chrous of angry bees or musical brilliance, YouTube have made it just like the broadcasts as can’t turn the vuvuzelas off. Pressing pause does nothing, and anyone expecting the sound to go away will either have to leave the page or press reload.

Care to try it? Check out our preview of the Dell Streak and hit the soccer button at the bottom of the video.
