Belkin has initiated a voluntary recall of Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE Portable Wireless Charger + Stand Special Edition (Belkin WIZ003).
A manufacturing defect in the power supply unit can cause the charger to malfunction and overheat, posing fire and shock hazards. We repeat the issue is with the wall charger unit. These were sold via Apple and Belkin and we understand it affects about 250 units here.
It is both a 10,000mAh portable power bank battery and 10W charging stand. The battery slots into the base and connects via pogo pins. It has the dual charging coils and can wirelessly charge the phone.
Affected Belkin WIZ003 have serial numbers: 35B01DO6029400-35B01DO6033704, 35B01DO5010350-35B01DO5014350, 35B01DO6016560-35B01DO6020560, 35B01DO5014500-35B01DO5020003, 35B01DO6010001-35B01DO6010500 and 35B01DO6010501-35B01DO6015500.
