Grid Frame Studio makes handmade, framed ‘deconstructed’ masterpieces from Apple iGadgets and other exciting tech memorabilia – or you can ask for a custom ‘anyGadget’.
The review unit, an ‘exploded’ Apple iPhone 4S, arrived very promptly. Grid Frame Studio is Chinese based with warehouses in the US and the Czech Republic.
The packaging was superb – plastic shipping satchel, bubble wrap protection around a solid cardboard box housing an impeccably gift wrapped and wax sealed ribboned photo frame. To be clear, the frame contains a genuine iGadget with a fake battery.
The parts are studiously mounted onto a printed template backing in a black custom wood frame. The ‘glass’ is high transparency Perspex with a pre-fitted protector. It has pre-fitted mounting points and two wall mounts. It is 445 (W) by 32mm (H)

GadgetGuy’s take
It is unique, making a product that is the perfect gift. Its concept is so simple, yet its inherent nostalgic value is so complex. I am sure that as Grid Frame Studio become more well-known, it will offer a far more comprehensive range of tech memorabilia.
And the price – very reasonable. It is something you should buy for the Apple user that has everything – they won’t have this. If you are looking for something different in the art space look at Netgear’s Meural electronic art frame.

As it is a unique category and exceeds the WOW factor and being a keeper, it is a 10/10.
