iPhone 4 antenna problem can be fixed… with masking tape?

While Australians wait for Apple to release the next generation iPhone locally, at least one organisation has come with a neat little fix for anyone suffering from an antenna problem.

If you do end up with antenna issues on an iPhone 4, American publication “Consumer Reports” has suggested to stick a piece of masking or duct tape over the antenna gap at the bottom of the phone.

This solution comes courtesy of a review done by that publication. While past iPhone models have yielded “Recommended” ratings, the current antenna design flaw found in the iPhone 4 has made this iPhone the first to not be given that recommendation.

Instead, the publication has ruled that the iPhone 3GS is the phone to buy if consumers are looking for an iPhone.
