WD Recall – Western Digital has issued an Australia-wide recall for the power supply (plug pack) for it’s My Passport Wireless Pro and My Passport Wireless SSD external drives (two types). To be clear, it is the power supply, not the drive and does not affect external USB powered drives.

The power supply plug pack is labelled APP524-051240U. It was sold between June 2016 and November 2019 and widely sold in Australia vias specialist computer stores and major retailers like JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and Officeworks

How to access the WD Recall

Owners should cease using the device (remember its data is safe) and fill in the form at https://support-en.wd.com/app/ask. Alternatively, call 1800 429 861 (M-F 0830-1700).
