Bose Quiet Comfort 45 headphones – let the silence be golden

Bose Quiet Comfort 45

It has been a long time between drinks, but the venerable and iconic Bose Quiet Comfort 35 noise-cancelling headphones released in 2016 are being thoroughly updated with the Bose Quiet Comfort 45 headphones.

Bose started a trend – fashionable, lightweight, foldable, Bluetooth, noise-cancelling cans that sounded pretty good. The QC 35s were updated to include voice assistance to QC 35 II in late 2017. So, they have stood the test of time, but tech marches on.

The QC 45 retains the QC 35 design cues, including the all-important fold-flat design and case for travellers.

Bose Quiet Comfort 45 have added

  • Two Modes — QUIET and AWARE. Just two settings using a new active noise cancellation (ANC) system and new electronics package.
  • Voice Isolation for Easy Conversations: For phone calls and commands, QC45 now has improved beam-forming mics, and a rejection array dampens and blocks the audible distractions around them
  • BT 5.1 Multi-Point Connections: There are four buttons on the right earcup: volume up, volume down, power, and Bluetooth pairing, and one for the most common tasks — to answer and end calls, play and pause music, and access to native VPAs.
  • 24 Hours of Battery Life: QC45 headphones have up to 24 hours of battery life on a two-hour charge — outlasting the longest flights in the world, 20 back-to-back conference calls, or study all-nighters with time to spare. USB-C to USB-A cable supplied. Charge from 5V/1A or more.
  • Unpowered 3.5mm mode (cable supplied)
  • Voice assistant
  • Bose unique sound signature and adjustment via the Bose Music App
  • Triple Black and White Smoke, both with a beautiful matte finish
  • 12 months warranty
  • Website here – pre-order now $499.95 with free local delivery and a 90-day risk-free trial

“QuietComfort headphones are legendary for a reason. What started as a product for travelling became a product that makes every day better and easier for millions of people worldwide. Our customers have told us for years that the balance of benefits makes QuietComfort so different and indispensable. They’ve always been a great example of excelling where it matters most. And the QC45s are no different.

GadgetGuy’s take

Woohoo! QC 35 II set the standards but frankly, they were a bit long in the tooth, allowing many newcomers to take the crown.

These are travellers headphones (light at 240g), but increasingly we see ANC headphones used in the office or work from home.

We are looking forward to reviewing them soon. You can pre-order now from Bose.com.au, or selected retailers should have stock from 24 September.
